It's Not About Your Dominant Function

Would you have pegged yourselves as intuitive types in that sense if not for learning about MBTI? I would definitely not type myself as an intuitive before learning about it. If I'm predicting the future, I like to make an educated guess so it can feel valid. Frankly, the whole concept of intuition (seeing visions of the future and whatnot) always seemed sketchy to me. Visions, trances, and so on are not things I've ever experienced. Some of the ways you all describe Ni 'Ni' are really weird.

As an INTJ, I have to admit that my understanding of intuition was limited before learning about MBTI. I didn't realize how different it was from logical reasoning or making informed decisions. When I think about predicting the future, I don't envision a clear picture in my mind; instead, I analyze patterns and make educated guesses based on data.

The concept of intuition is often misunderstood, even among those who have learned about MBTI. It's not just about having visions or gut feelings, but rather about processing information outside of conscious awareness. As INTJs, we tend to rely more on logical reasoning, which can lead us to overlook the importance of intuition in decision-making.
